Immediate Release
Alex
Job Racing Heads
to Laguna for ALMS Finale
Tavares,
Florida – Alex
Job Racing is heading west to Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca for the
final round of the American Le Mans Series to be run on Saturday,
October 21st.
Mike Rockenfeller
and Marcel Tiemannn will take the number 23/Alex Job Racing/Bell
Microproducts/Porsche 911 to the challenging 2.2-mile 11-turn
road course located in Monterey, California. The
scenic undulating circuit features the famous Cork Screw turn.
Mike Rockenfeller
is hungry to finish the season on a winning note. “I watched the team at Petit go from the back
of the grid at the start to the front and then up two laps on the
field. They were really having a strong run, very Alex Job
like. That is kind of the way the season has went for us – fast
and then disappointment. Laguna Seca is a great track, with
the elevation changes and the combination of turns, I really like
it. The team will be ready to finish the season strong, with
the race ending in the darkness I hope we can bring some light
to our season’s record with a win.”
Marcel Tiemann
is looking forward to returning to Laguna Seca. “I
raced at Laguna in 1997 and 1998 in the Mercedes GT1 car. I
really like the circuit and the Cork Screw is really fun. The only
problem is that the sand comes on the track everywhere. The
last three races we have been competitive and would have ended
up first or second, just incidents that the team and the drivers
couldn't avoid ruined our results. For that reason I
believe we can win if we don't get hit by somebody else doing a
move on us or having a mechanical problem like at Petit. I
hope that after such a difficult season for the team, we can finally
get back and win the final race. This would be a good positive
vibe for 2007 that the team deserves.”
“We have strong history at Laguna Seca, having won there
in 2004, 2003 and 2002,” said Alex Job, team owner. “We
will have a strong contingent from Bell Microproducts there this
weekend so the team is poised to close out the season on the top
step of the podium. We need to finish the performance that
we started at Petit.”
The season finale from Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca will be televised
live on the Speed Channel starting at 5:30 p.m. ET.
