Job Racing Heads
North to Road America
Marcel Tiemann to Partner Roceknfeller
Tavares,
Florida – Alex
Job Racing is heading north for round seven of the American Le
Mans Series to be run at Road America this Sunday. German
Marcel Tiemann will reunite with the team and join Mike Rockenfeller
for the remainder of the season.
Tiemann brings
a wealth of road racing experience to the team. Tiemann
has competed in the DTM as well as the endurance classics of Europe,
including his recent win at the Nurburgring 24 Hour with Rockenfeller. Marcel
raced with AJR last year at Petit Le Mans, where he helped the
team in the #24 car finish second.
Marcel Tiemann
is looking forward to rejoining the Alex Job crew and running
at Road America. “I have heard that the
Road America circuit is really exciting, drivers that I have talked
to compare it to Spa or the old Nurburgring. I am looking
forward to adding another track in America to my resume. It
will be a challenge to jump in with the team with four races to
go at some new tracks, but with the team’s experience, I
am ready to help the team have some good results.”
Mike Rockenfeller
counts Road America as one of his favorite tracks. “Road
America is a great circuit; it has a nice combination of fast and
technical sections. The run from the exit of turn eight all
the way to Canada corner is one of the best in racing. We
need to improve on our finishes. Since our win at Houston we have
really had nothing but disappointment. Marcel and I won the
24 Hours at Nurburgring in June, so we know what it takes to win.”
“Marcel is a known driver to us, having been in one of our
cars at Road Atlanta last year as well as our Daytona Prototype,” said
Alex Job, team owner. “We have had a rough ride since
our win at Houston. We have not been performing up to our
standards and we are focused on turning our season around this
weekend.”
Road America
features 12-turns around its over four mile distance. Alex
Job Racing has an excellent track record at Road America with wins
in 2004 and 2002.
Rockenfeller is currently ninth in drivers points, 49 out of the
lead, with Alex Job Racing fifth in the team standings.
Round seven of the American Le Mans Series to be run at Road America
will be televised live on Speed Channel, Sunday, August 20th starting
at 1:00 p.m. ET.
