Alex Job Racing/Emory Head to VIR

Tavares , Florida -- Alex Job Racing/Emory is heading to Virginia International Raceway for round five of the Grand American Rolex Series presented by Crown Royal Reserve. The team is coming off of their third consecutive podium finish in the Daytona Prototype class.

Patrick Long and Mike Rockenfeller are ready to put their number 23 Porsche powered Crawford through the paces at the 3.27-mile, 17-turn rolling road course located in southern Virginia . Long has raced on the track before, but this will be a first visit Rockenfeller.

The season has started off very competitive for the team from Florida , besides having to miss the Mexico City round. At Daytona the team started from pole position and led several times throughout the 24 hours to finish in third. At Homestead Mike Rockenfeller qualified on pole and together with Patrick Long went on to post the team's first win. In the last round at Long Beach , Long put the car on the front row with a second place qualifying effort and that is where the duo finished. Although competing in three of the four rounds, Rockenfeller and Long are third in points in the DP standings, just 14 out of the overall lead.

Patrick Long has driven VIR in a GT class car, but next weekend will be his first visit behind the wheel of a Daytona Prototype. "I've driven at VIR in the GT, but I am looking forward to running there in the prototype. VIR is one my all time favorite tracks. It is a great circuit with a nice combination of fast and slow turns all culminating in a long straight. It will be important to qualify well at VIR as the track is a little narrow for passing. I will be anxious to see how our package performs on a natural road course."

Mike Rockenfeller will take to VIR for the first time. "This is the second track in a row that I have not been to, but we did not do too badly at Long Beach . Patrick has been there a few times, so has Greg Fordahl our engineer, and from what they tell me it is a fast and fun track to drive. I am told to especially be ready for the fast esses. I am used to learning new tracks quickly and this will be another great circuit to add to my resume."

"We have had a great start to the season," said Alex Job. "The team has really got up to speed with the Porsche/Crawford and we have run and finished at the top of the timing sheet each of our three races. The natural road course is the only kind of track missing from our record book, we are looking forward to running VIR. As a team we have never raced there, but key individuals with our team have raced there so I am confident we will have another good outing."

Round four of the Grand Am series at Virginia International Raceway will take the green flag on Saturday, April 23 rd at 1:00 p.m. EST and will be televised live on the Speed Channel.
