1-26-09 -- For Immediate Release

Alex Job Racing signs Mitch Pagerey for 2009 Patrón GT3 Challenge season

Alex Job Racing today announced that it added Mitch Pagerey to its Patrón GT3 Challenge by Yokohama driver lineup for the 2009 season.

Pagerey, a Deerfield Beach, Fla. resident, enters his third full season of road racing after completing a successful 2008 campaign that included five PCA national club wins, four SCCA national wins, and two NASA of Florida victories. Pagerey enters the Patrón GT3 Challenge by Yokohama as a rookie and will drive the No. 45Alex Job Racing Porsche GT3 Cup.

Alex Job Racing made a successful return to IMSA racing last season with a driver who narrowly missed winning the IMSA Challenge Drivers' Championship by six points. This year, AJR looks to continue those winning ways with Pagerey behind the wheel.

"I am thrilled and honored to be part of the Alex Job Racing team," Pagerey said. "This is literally a dream come true. I was introduced to Alex Job in 2002 by a friend, Les O'Bryan, at the Miami Grand Prix. Les was an AJR crew member. At the time, I was riding motocross and began to follow AJR.

"In 2004, I obtained my SCCA license. I did a couple years of autocross and track days, and that was followed by an endurance series in 2006. I have always run Porsches and, in November 2006, I bought a 2001 GT3 Cup to campaign during the 2007 season. I ran into Alex at Sebring in February 2007 and established an open line of communication. A few months ago, he informed me through Les that the 2009 cars were available. Alex thought that I would fit perfectly into the IMSA GT3 series. It is specifically designed for a racer such as myself, faster than the average club racer, but not experienced enough to be a pro. It only took a couple of weeks to decide that this series was perfect. I am revved up and ready to go.

"I know I will have the best car and support. I have never been in a series with such evenly matched cars. This is a driver series. The fact that the cars are all identical allows AJR to provide a considerable edge, especially with this particular car. AJR defines racing at the highest level - period. No other team, in this series, is comparable. AJR's professionalism, experience, and expertise will provide the tools necessary to win a championship.

"Overall, my expectation heading into the season is to be on the podium a few times with solid top 10 finishes. One disadvantage I have is that I don't have experience at all of the tracks [that the Patrón GT3 Challenge series competes on]. This is a two-year effort."

"We are excited to have Mitch driving for us this season," Job said. "I've known Mitch for several years and I believe he's ready to take his driving talent to the next level - that's why we are so excited to have him. He is fully committed to this program. I can't wait to get started."

The 2009 Patrón GT3 Challenge by Yokohama season gets underway March 19-20 with the Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring at Sebring International Raceway. The series then moves west for the Utah Grand Prix May 16-17 at Miller Motorsports Park. After a three month break, the series returns to action for the Generac 500 Aug. 15-16 at Road America. Immediately following Road America, teams head to Canada for the Grand Prix of Mosport Aug. 29-30 at Mosport International Raceway. Following Mosport, teams will have three weeks to prepare for Petit Le Mans Sept. 24-25 at Road Atlanta. The beautiful Monterey peninsula will once again play host to the Patrón GT3 Challenge by Yokohama season finale and the Monterey Sports Car Championships Oct. 10-11 at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca. Each event will feature two 30-minute races, except for the season finale. The final event will consist of one 30-minute race and a one hour and 15 minute endurance race.
