Alex Job Racing Porsche Paces German Contingent at Roar
Second fastest overall in GT

Tavares, Fla., - The five driver lineup on the No. 23 Foametix/Battery Tender/Alex Job Racing/Porsche 997 GT3 Cup entry showed a lot of speed and poise during the Roar Before the 24 practice this past weekend at Daytona International Speedway.  The team recorded the fastest time for a Porsche in the GT class as well as the second speediest time over the three day testing weekend.  All positive marks as the team returns to their north Orlando shop for final preparation for the 48th running of the Grand-Am Road Racing Series Rolex 24 Hour At Daytona.

Drivers Claudio Burtin, Mitch Pagerey, Jack Baldwin, Dominik Farnbacher and Martin Ragginger all were able to run maximum laps during the very cold three day practice.  Ragginger posted a time of 1:49.627 and an average speed of 117 mph around the 3.56, 12-turn modified Daytona International Speedway road course putting the team just one click off fast lap of the weekend.

Team engineer Greg Fordahl and crew chief Kerry Foote were able to dial in the No. 23 Porsche into the track almost straight off of the truck.  With the feedback provided by the drivers, the red-white and blue crew was able to make only small adjustments to get the Foametix/Battery Tender 997 fast on the very first day.

"Our weekend went about as smooth as any that we have had in our 20 year history at Daytona," Alex Job, team owner, said.  "The car was fast right off of the trailer and the guys gave the right feedback to get it that much faster.  You come into the practice weekend with the hope that the drivers get along, like the same general setup, and work together well with the crew.  We have a nice synergy among the team going into the race, which just leaves us to preparing the car and getting everything ready for the race."

The team covered 158 laps with no real problems.  "The car ran flawlessly the entire weekend," continued Job.  "Aside from the speed, which we expected, I am very pleased with the poise that the drivers showed during the weekend.  None of them put a wheel wrong.  This helps get all of the drivers maximum track time and allows us to focus on the details in preparation for the race, not doing body work or repairing other damage."

The Rolex 24 Hour At Daytona will take the green flag on January 30 at 3:30 p.m. and the checker will fall 24 hours later.  SPEED Channel will cover the race starting at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday.
