- 1997 Lead driver for SSC Racing, winning the IKF Formula A title and the WKA
Constructors Cup.
- 1998 First American to win the an International European karting event in 20 years.
- 1999 Moved to France to debut in automobiles, placed third overall in Elf Campus series
and won nine of 11 races in the Skip Barber Formula Dodge Series in the US.
- 2000 Moved to England to compete in British Formula Ford Zetec series, eight top 10
finishes.
- 2001 Facotry Van Diemen team in Formula Ford Winter Series, won one race and two
pole postions. Returned to US to compete in Skip Barber “Big Scholarship”
Shootout and turned down the scholarship to return to Europe. Second in Formula
Ford summer championship, winning three races and two poles.
- 2002 Moved up to British Formula Renault, finishing eighth in the championship,
including a pole and win at Snetterton. Chosen as one of six finalists for Red Bull F1
Driver Search program.
- 2003 Signed as UPS Porsche Junior factory driver in Germany’s Porsche Carrera Cup,
won one race, and finished on the podium in two other events. Won in the British
Carrera Cup and ran select number of Michelin Porsche Supercup races. In
Supercup posted a second place finish at Nurburgring after starting from the pole
and finished third at Monaco. Made his American Le Mans Series Debut finishing
fourth at Petit Le Mans.
- 2004 First full season in the ALMS with a season high of fourth twice, finished all nine
races in the top ten and took eighth place in his Sebring 12 Hour debut. Finished
the season tied for sixth in GT points. Also competed in three LME events, taking
third at Silverstone. Won the Bahrain round of the GT2 FIA GT race. Won Le
Mans 24 Hours with Petersen Motorsports. Six podium finishes on the season in
all races run.
- 2005 Competed in second full season in the ALMS, posting wins at Sebring, Road
Atlanta, Road America, Mosport, Petit Le Mans and Laguna Seca. Second at the
24 Hours of Le Mans. Made seven Grand American Rolex series starts, six in the
GT category.
- 2006 Competed in first full season of Grand-Am Rolex Series Daytona Prototype
competition. Recorded two race wins (Homestead-Miami and VIR), one qualifying
race win (Laguna) and nine podium finishes. In his third full season in the ALMS,
Long finished third in the GT2 Drivers’ Championship point standings. He recorded
three wins (Lime Rock, Road America and Road Atlanta), six podiums, seven topfives
and 10 top-10 finishes.
