Alex Job Racing Qualifies Second and Third at Sebring

Sebring, Florida -- Alex Job Racing drivers Timo Bernhard and Romain Dumas drove their McKenna/mail2web/Alex Job Racing/Porsche 911 GT3 RSR racers to a second and third place qualifying position for Saturday's Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring.

The Alex Job drivers waited in pit lane for the Risi Ferrari to post a qualifying time as a benchmark, as they were the closest to the team in lap times all week.  Dumas and Bernhard went out 10-minutes into the 25-minute qualifying session and posted times of 2:04.804 and 2:04.959 on their first flying laps, placing them first and second on the provisional grid.  Then  Mike Rockenfeller in his Porsche put up a time surpassing Bernhard for pole.  The AJR drivers went back out, but ran out of time to launch a reprisal.

Timo Bernhard, #23 McKenna/mail2web/Alex Job Racing/Porsche 911 GT3 RSR:  "We worried about the Ferrari, but as it turns out a fellow Porsche beat us.  I think I could have gone faster, but we decided to post a quick time and then come in, usually you can improve a little on your second flying lap.  Starting second is still a great position for the race, so we are looking forward Saturday."

Jorg Bergmeister, #23 McKenna/mail2web/Alex Job Racing/Porsche 911 GT3 RSR:  "Timo did a nice job in qualifying, second place starting position is fine for a 12-hour race.  I am feeling much better from cold that I got earlier in the week.  I have only completed a handful of laps this week, but I am concentrating on being fit for the race."

Saascha Massen, #23 McKenna/mail2web/Alex Job Racing/Porsche 911 GT3 RSR:  "Timo did a good job qualifying the car.  Timo will start and Jorg will get in second, I will be the third driver this weekend supporting my teammates.  They will be going for the points championship and I will do everything I can to support them here at Sebring."

Romain Dumas, #24 McKenna/mail2web/Alex Job Racing/Porsche 911 GT3 RSR:  "My first flying lap I came up on a slower car and lost about three-tenths, but third place is not a bad starting position here.  We were fast in all the practice sessions and we have the cars set-up for long runs, so I am looking forward to racing from the third starting spot."

Marc Lieb, #24 McKenna/mail2web/Alex Job Racing/Porsche 911 GT3 RSR:  "We expected a little more, we were the quickest all week so naturally we thought we would be on pole.  The crew and the drivers have been focusing on a good set-up for the long runs we are going to do on Saturday.  The pole would have been nice, but we will be working to redeem ourselves on Saturday."

Lucas Luhr, #24 McKenna/mail2web/Alex Job Racing/Porsche 911 GT3 RSR: "Rocky did a great time.  He wasn't that close to the front all week and then put in a really good lap, so congratulations to him.  Romain followed the program by doing one lap, but I think he could have improved with a few more circuits, but we can race hard from third position."

Alex Job, team owner:  "BAM Team! Great job to get the pole.  Timo and Romain did their jobs by going out and posting times good enough for first and second.  Then things got a little crazy with the Ferrari spinning and the red flag.  Take nothing away Mike Rockenfeller, it was a great lap and we look forward to racing them on Saturday."
