7-22-04 -- For Immediate Release

AJR Taking Momentum to Portland

Tavares, Florida -- Alex Job Racing has arrived in Oregon for round five of the American Le Mans Series race to be run at Portland Raceway on July 25th.

Last week at Infineon Raceway in California, Timo Bernhard and Jorg Bergmeister recorded their second win of the season. This win gave Bernhard valuable points after a tenth place finish at Lime Rock. The third place by Romain Dumas and Marc Lieb in the 24 car moved the duo into third place in driver's standing.

The 1.9-mile Portland Raceway is a departure from the last circuits for the drivers of the McKenna/mail2web.com/Alex Job Racing/Porsche 911 GT3 RSRs. Mid-Ohio, Lime Rock and Infiineon featured undulating terrain with off-camber turns. Portland is a flat landscape, nearly in the city center that is built on a flood plain.

"In 2001 I subbed for Bob Wolleck in Portland. We finished fifth," said Bernhard. "The track is quite short and has patches of concrete similar to Lime Rock that make setting up the car a challenge. The GT3 RSR has been such a good handling car and our team seems to get it right quicker than the others so I am looking forward to going back and improving my finishing record there by four places."

"Again this is another track that Marc and I have never been to," said Romain Dumas, driver of the number 24 AJR Porsche. "However we both are learning very quickly and I have a little streak going with two pole positions in a row, I hope to make it a third at Portland. The team is very good at making the adjustments to the car and that just leaves it to us to learn the fastest way around these new circuits."

"It was great to get the win in Sonoma. The team had been down a little from our performances at Lime Rock and Mid-Ohio," said Alex Job, team owner. "A win helps to make the three weeks of travel a little easier on everyone. We have Timo back in the points chase and Romain is on a qualifying streak. He and Marc can really get up to speed on these new tracks."

Round five of the American Le Mans Series will be July 25th and televised live on Speed Channel 4:00 p.m. EST.
