Alex Job Racing Qualifies Second and Third In GT at Mosport

Bowmanville, Canada -- Alex Job Racing qualified second and third in GT for round six of the American Le Mans Series race to be run at Mosport Raceway on Sunday. The team's streak of consecutive pole positions ends at 22, equal to nearly three complete ALMS seasons.

The ALMS qualifying session was four total laps with two flying laps, similar to Sears Point two races ago. Marc Lieb, who is partnering with Romain Dumas in the number 24/ McKenna/mail2web.com/Xybernaut/ Alex Job Racing/Porsche 911 GT3 RSR, qualified in second position with a time of 1:18.564 and a speed of 113 mph. "The car was very good. We had a good setup yesterday and then it wasn't that great this morning. We worked to get the handling back just before qualifying and I had a good first lap. On the second lap I made a small mistake and then the tires had lost their edge and I had to settle for second. The number 44 car put in a great lap."

Jorg Bergmeister, who co-drives with Timo Bernhard, qualified the number 23 AJR Porsche in third position with a time of 1:18.579. "The fist lap was good and I was getting set to really put in a great second lap when the passenger side window came loose and broke my concentration. I had maybe a couple of tenths improvement left, but not enough for the pole. The Lizard car did an unbelievable lap. Our car is handling good and we can definitely race from third on the grid in GT."

"Well our pole streak ended at 22, that was a nice run for the team. It shows the quality of drivers and team that we have," said Alex Job, team owner. "Marc did a nice job to qualify in second and Jorg was just a couple tenths back. We can see the front from where we are at on the grid. The 44 did a remarkable lap, how they found more than a second from their best practice time is quite a feat. Once again this shows the competitiveness of the GT field."

Round six of the American Le Mans Series will be run on Sunday and televised live on CBS starting at 12:00 p.m. Eastern time.
