05-21-05 -- For Immediate Release

Alex Job Racing on Pole for GT2 at Mid-Ohio

Lexington, Ohio - Alex Job Racing qualified first and fifth in GT2 for round three of the American Le Mans Series race to be run at Mid-Ohio tomorrow.

Timo Bernhard, driving the number 23/Hyatt/Alex Job Racing/Porsche 911 GT3 RSR, took but one lap to post his qualifying time of 1:22.663 and a speed of 98 mph setting a new class track record to take pole position for tomorrow's two-hour and forty-five minute race.  Bernhard is partnered with Romain Dumas and the duo will be tasked with getting Alex Job Racing their first ever win at Mid-Ohio.

"I had a good lap, but not a great one," said Bernhard.  "I went faster in the previous practice, the car stepped out on me in turn one and eleven on my fast lap.  It is nice to get our first pole of the year, it shows that we are back.  We still have some work to do in the warm-up tomorrow to get a set-up for the race.  Romain and I will be looking to have a clean race and will make every effort to a get a first win for the team here."

Randy Pobst drove his number 24/Bell Microproducts/Pro Vest/Alex Job Racing/Porsche 911 GT3 RSR, to a fifth place qualifying effort with a time of 1:23.512.  "We are still working on getting the most out of our new suspension package," said Pobst.  "The time sheet really says it all for Ian and I, our times are a lot more competitive and Ian has really picked up the pace.  On my fast qualifying lap the car was a little loose in turn three and five, but it is great to be in the thick of the competition in GT2."

"Timo did a great job to get our first pole of the season," said Alex Job.  "He and Romain have been fastest in every practice by a margin and I hope we can keep that edge for the race tomorrow.  Randy and Ian have really come full circle since Sebring and Road Atlanta.  Together with the team, they have worked and worked on the set-up to get the car the way they want it and the time sheet reveals that effort.  Petersen and Panoz will be a factor tomorrow, we have to have a good race on the track, in the pits and our strategy has to be right on to win"

Round three of the ALMS series at Mid-Ohio Sportscar Course will be televised live on CBS starting at 12:00 p.m. EST tomorrow.
