Alex Job Racing Qualifies
Second and Sixth in GT2 at Lime Rock
Lime Rock,
Connecticut - Alex Job Racing qualified second
and sixth at Lime Rock in GT2 for round four of the American Le
Mans Series to be run on Monday. The team will be looking for their
fist win at the Connecticut circuit.
Under sunny
skies and 85-degree temperatures Romain Dumas drove the number
23/Hyatt/Alex Job Racing/Porsche 911 GT3 RSR to a second place
qualifying position with a time of 53.989 and an average speed
of 103 mph. "I pushed
really hard, but the car really bucks over
the bumps," said Dumas. "I had some understeer in qualifying. I
was trying to get the last little bit and I spun in turn one. My
time was good, but the Petersen car got me at the end. We have
a little more work to do for the warm-up on Monday, but we will
be good for the race." Dumas is teamed with German Timo Bernhard.
Teammate Randy
Pobst qualified his number 24/Bell MicroproductsProVest/Alex
Job Racing/Porsche 911 GT3 RSR in sixth position, posting a time
of 54.595. "We are making progress with the setup of the car," commented
Pobst. "We have been making some pretty big adjustments and it
keeps getting better every time we exit pit road. Racing at Lime
Rock is always an adventure; I am sure Monday will be no different." Ian
Baas will share the driving duties in the number 24 car.
"Not the best day for us," said Alex Job. "We
are struggling with the handling of the cars; the bumps are playing
havoc with our setup. We are close but not there yet. We have
some more ideas for the warm-up on Monday. The GT2 field is really
tight and this race usually sees a lot of caution laps. Lime
Rock is the only track left on the ALMS schedule that we have
yet to win at, so Monday we will be ready to try and remedy that
fact."
The Lime Rock will be televised live on the Speed Channel starting
at 3:00 p.m. EST on Monday, July 4 th.
