Alex Job Racing on Pole in GT2 at Road America

Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin - Timo Bernhard, driving the number 23/Hyatt/Alex Job Racing/Porsche 911 GT3 RSR, will start from pole position in GT2 for tomorrow's running of the Generac 500 American Le Mans Series race at Road America.

Bernhard and teammate Dumas were holding down second position on the timing sheet through yesterday and today's practice sessions. The duo had to endure a transmission change after completing only one lap in Friday's practice. Bernhard's lap of 2:08.458 and 113 mph will see him start from the GT2 pole.

"I had a good lap, was able to put one in that was free of traffic and finally get ahead of the Petersen car on the weekend," said Bernhard. "The lap time was good, but I think we have a few tenths left. The transmission change on Friday put us back a little, so we will be doing some more tuning in the morning warm-up. We have a good race car and Romain and I are both very comfortable with the track."

Darren Law, in the companion number 24/Hyatt/Alex Job Racing/ProVest/

Porsche 911 GT3 RSR, was able to qualify in seventh position for tomorrow's 500 mile race with a time of 2:10.374. After climbing to third in practice, the duo of Law and Ian Baas remain baffled at the performance of the 24 car.

"We are working hard and the team is working hard, it is just not translating to the time sheet," said Law. "The car is loose in the Caroussel and the Kink, I am just sliding it through there. It is tough to keep the power down and those two corners lead onto a long straight so we leave a lot of time out there. We need to do some work in the morning warm-up, but I think we will have a good race car."

"The 23 car continues its string of pole positions," said Alex Job. "We had a little hiccup with the transmission on Friday, but Timo, Romain and the team were able to overcome that and get the pole. The 24 car continues to puzzle me. We have the exact same package on both cars. The team is putting in the effort and the drivers are working through there program. The speed is just not there."
