Alex Job Racing/Emory Motorsports Ready
for Assault on Daytona 24 Hours
Long, Luhr and Rockenfeller to Drive

Daytona
Beach , Florida -- Alex Job
announced today the team's driver lineup for their assault on the
Grand American Rolex Series Presented by Crown Royal Reserve Daytona
24 Hour race. The Taveres, Florida based team will have Porsche
factory pilots Patrick Long, Lucas Luhr and Mike Rockenfeller behind
the wheel of their number 23/Alex Job Racing/Emory Motorsports/Porsche
Crawford.
Patrick Long, the only American Porsche factory driver, will be
running his third Daytona 24 Hour, his first in a Daytona Prototype.
The Californian is embarking on his third year as a Porsche factory
driver. His best finish at Daytona is fifth, he has two starts
at Le Mans GT win in 2004.
Lucas Luhr brings more than seven years as a Porsche factory pilot.
The German has raced the Daytona 24 four times boasting a GT class
win in 2001, second overall. When the team takes the green in January,
Luhr will be starting his 13 th 24 hour race with Le Mans class
win in 2003.
Mike Rockenfeller has two Daytona 24 Hour starts to his credit
in 2004 and 2005. The German was second in 2004, just 6-seconds
off the top step of the podium. Going into his second year as a
Porsche factory driver, Rockenfeller has six 24 hour races on his
resume with a Le Mans win in GT2 in '05.
"We have assembled a driver lineup that will showcase speed and
experience in endurance racing," said Alex Job. "Patrick, Lucas
and Mike are factory Porsche drivers and have a combined 22, 24
hour races between them, which gives us a driver knowledge base
that we hope will be competitive at the end of January. As a team
we have run 14, 24 hour races and have won the GT class at Le Mans
in 2003, 2005 as well as Daytona 24 win in GT3 in 1999. We have
quite a knowledge base from which to draw."
The team is
busy testing at Daytona International Speedway today with Crawford
Technologies to gather further data on their new Crawford/Porsche
package, the only one entered for the famed event. At Homestead
, just two weeks ago, the "new comers" to the Grand
Am Series Daytona Prototype class logged lap times in the top three
of the combined sessions over the two day open test.
"We were comfortable with the car right off of the trailer at
Homestead ," continued Job. "We ran more than 200 laps with no
real issues. The combination of the Crawford chassis and the updated
Porsche 3.8-liter motor is a recipe we believe can be a factor
in the race. Although we are coming into the event as a new prototype
team, with a new car, we are no stranger to Daytona and endurance
racing. The assistance we have received from Porsche, our strong
driver lineup and the proven Crawford has us right up to speed.
We will take the same measured approach that we have for the last
18 years, fielding 20 cars during the 12 years of competing at
Daytona and be ready for the twice around the clock race come the
last weekend in January."
The race in
January marks a return to Daytona for AJR after a five year absence,
although AJR did run the number 58 Red Bull Brumos entry in 2003.
Job has run the race 12 times and his first taste of the high-banks
was as a driver in 1976. "The Daytona 24
Hour is a special race for me. I raced there and have run cars
there for a long time. The track is just an hour from our shop
and we have missed not being apart of the action the past five
years. The race has a lot of history and prestige; we are really
looking forward to competing for an overall win."
The team's Daytona effort will be sponsored by Shred-it; the world's
leading on site document destruction company. The team will also
feature partners adidas and charity Limbs for Life.
Shred-it serves more than 150,000 customers around the world.
Shred-it was founded in 1988 and, with more than 130 branches on
five continents, is now the world's leading on site document destruction
company.
