TAVARES, Fla. - The Heart of Racing Porsche drivers Mario Farnbacher (Germany) and Alex Riberas (Spain) are looking for a double-double at this weekend's IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship Chevrolet Sports Car Classic presented by Metro Detroit Chevy Dealers to run on Detroit's Belle Isle.

Farnbacher and Ribers won the last GTD race at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca. Farnbacher with teammate Ian James (Phoenix, Az.) won the the last race in Detroit in 2015. The duo are second in the GTD points and are looking for their second race win in a row and the team's second Detroit race win in as many years. The team is confident in their history and like their chances around the 2.36-mile, 14-turn converted park street course lies in the middle of the Detroit River between Michigan and Windsor, Ontario, Canada.

"The whole team is excited to go back to the street race in Detroit," Farnbacher said. "Usually a rear engine car should be an advantage at slower tracks with tight turns. The improved downforce of the new Porsche GT3R and overall good balance will help as well. I have positive thoughts heading into the race. Our main focus is long term and getting the maximum number of points per race. However, another win and being on the podium in Detroit for a third time would be cool too."

Detroit is yet another new circuit for Riberas to learn.

"Mario, Ian and the team have a lot of data on the Detroit circuit," Riberas said. "I have driven in the Porsche Cup series in Monaco, so I am familiar with street races. I have also been looking at in-car video of the circuit. We have limited on-track running, so I will walk the track a couple of times and be ready to go. The Heart of Racing team won there last year and we are coming off of a win at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca, so two in a row would be great!"

"The Heart of Racing team comes into Detroit with a lot of momentum," Alex Job, team owner said. "Mario and Ian won in Detroit last year, so we have a lot of faith in our set-up for the Heart of Racing Porsche. We will be on top of the 100-minute race strategy and see if we can't go for two for two."

The IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship Chevrolet SportsCar Classic from Detroit will be televised on Fox Sports 1 starting at 12:30 p.m. ET, June 4. Qualifying at 5:05 p.m. on June 3 can be viewed on IMSA.tv.
