Won both races in 2016

TAVARES, Fla. (May 2, 2017) - Sebastian Landy (Great Falls, Va.) is heading to the Circuit of the Americas IMSA Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge by Yokohama doubleheader weekend looking to repeat past successes at the Austin, Texas track.

Landy is currently fourth in the IMSA Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge by Yokohama Platinum Class standings. Landy has had success at COTA. Last year he swept the weekend winning both of the Porsche Cup Gold Class races.

"My first race experience at COTA was last year in the Porsche GT3 Cup Gold championship," Landy said. "I remember going into the weekend having never been to the track before, and having to learn it in pretty short order after having a shock fail during one session and a motor let go during another practice. I didn't have a great qualifying last time I was there, but I ended up winning both races, the second of which finished in the dark, which was a really unique experience. I'm hoping to have more success there this year!

"COTA is always difficult to get the set-up right, it's such a compromise between specific sections of the track, it's never really an ideal situation. I think the two most important aspects for COTA are having a car that can have traction exiting some of the slower, tighter corners, while also retaining just enough platform to push the limits in the high speed sections such as the esses.

"COTA is definitely one of the best tracks in the country. It's always fun to race on a circuit built for Formula 1, and it's interesting to see how those cars influenced the design of the course itself. Personally, I think it's one of the most challenging tracks that we go to all year. It's a nonstop challenge from Turn 1 until the end. There is very little time to stop and think during the lap. That, combined with the heat, usually makes for some exciting racing."

Team owner, Alex Job, is looking forward to running Landy this weekend at the track located southeast of Austin.

"Sebastian is coming off of a little disappointing finish in the second race at Barber just last weekend," Job said. "He is resilient and has won at COTA, so we are looking to capitalize on his youthful enthusiasm for the tough F1 circuit. The track suits his driving style and I am looking for a very strong two races from him this weekend."

The IMSA Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge by Yokohama series will race at 6:40 p.m. CT on Friday evening and at 11 a.m. on Saturday.
